Obituary

Mrs. Rebecca Scott, wife of O.F. Scott of Kalgary, died at the family home about noon Monday. Funeral services were conducted at the Spur Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. A.P. Stokes and Rev. J.W. Grizzle, former pastors, conducted the services. Burial was in Spur cemetery in charge of Spencer Campbell.

Three sons and a daughter were present for the funeral services. Mrs. Scott was 46 years old, being born in Tennessee. She had been a resident of the Kalgary community for many years, the family being among the pioneers of that section.

Services for Oly F. Scott, 94, of the Colonial Nursing Home in Lubbock were at 2 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church of Spur. The Rev. Norris Taylor, pastor, officiated.

Interment was in Spur Cemetery, under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Mr. Scott died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at the nursing home after an illness.

An Anson native, Mr. Scott had been a Crosby County resident most of his life. The longtime Kalgary farmer moved to Lubbock 12 years ago.

He and the former Rebecca Hightower were married Aug. 23, 1910 in Anson.

Survivors include three sons, Virgil of Tulia, Wade of Lubbock and W.T. of Post; one daughter, Elene Steele of Dallas; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.
