Former Resident Buried Here in Thursday Rites

U.S.Flag Funeral services for Calvin Bernard Rutledge were held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Bethel Baptist Church, Rev. Chester Sassman, officiating, assisted by Rev. Bob Ferguson.

Mr. Rutledge died October 12 in Crowell. He lived in Dickens County from 1927 to 1943. He was a member of the Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include one son, Larry, Alaska; mother Alice Rutledge, Spur; 3 brothers, Earl Hale, Spur; L.M. Rutledge, San Bernardino, CA and T.S. Rutledge, Odessa; four sisters, Laura Newman, Dallas, Jewell Watson, Williams, CA; Bernice Howell, Lubbock and Beulah Morrow, Spur.

Burial was in the Spur Cemetery.
