Obituary

Funeral services for John Thomas Russell were held Aug. 1, 1954 at the United Baptist Church with Rev. J. E. Lee officiating.

Russell was born Sept. 24, 1881 at Burnet county, TX. He was married to Ora B. Beadle at Clairemont on Sept. 26 1907.

Survivors are his wife; Mrs. Ora B. Russell, one son, Clyde W. of Carlsbad, NM; five brothers, George Russell of Blackwell, TX, Leonard Russell of Wewoka, OK, Will, G. M. and R.D. (Dick) Russell, al of Portales, NM and three sisters, Mrs. Lela Jackson of San Angelo, Mrs. Ruth Wall of Blackwell, and Mrs.Velma Dickenson of Riera, TX.

Pallbearers were Dick Sampson, Marion Jordan, Wayne Beadle, Tom Rape, Ab Smith and Lon Bass.

Burial was at the Spur cemetery under the direction of the Chandler Funeral Home.

Furneral services for Ora Ann Russell, 98 were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Galloup, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, officiating, assited by Rev. Darwin Cox, pastor of the First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Russell died February 18 in the Spur Care Center. Born Ora Ann Beadle on June 5, 1886 in Kent County, she married John Thomas Russell. He died July 30, 1954. She had resided in Dickens County for the past 40 years. She was a housewife and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include two brothers, Lon Beadle, Lovington, N. M. and Virgil Beadle, Ruidoso, N. M.; a sister, Eula Darden, Girard; two grandchildren, Linda McArthur, Spur and Gloria Tappan, Palisade, Calif.; three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Bill Hale, Billy Hale, Wayne Beadle, Ted Smith, Robert Hahn and Bernice Bilberry.

Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangments.
