Obituary

Funeral services were held July 17 at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church for Clyde Wayne Russell, 61. Rev. Norris Taylor, church pastor, officiated.

Mr. Russell died July 15. He had been a resident of Spur since 1967.

He is survived by his wife, Mamie Russell, Spur; two daughters, Linda McArthur, Spur and Gloria Tappan, Palisade, CA;his mother, Mrs. Ora Russell, Spur and two grandchildren.

Interment was in Spur Cemetery.

Services for Mamie Sarabeth Russell, 87, were at 10:30 a.m. November 12, 1991 in the First Baptist Church, Spur. Rev. Norris Taylor, retired Baptist minister from Idalou, officiated, along with Rev. Genoa Goad, church pastor.

Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Russell died about 2:45 p.m. November 10, 1991 in St. Mary of the Plains Hospital, Lubbock, following a lengthy illness.

She was a former teacher and homemaker. Born in New Mexico, she married Clyde Russell in Portales, NM on May 31, 1937. He died in 1971. She was a member of the Baptist Church and had lived in Dickens County since 1967, coming from Carlsbad, NM.

Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Tappan, Palisade, CA; and Linda McArthur, Spur; one sister, Bessie Hect, Clovis, NM; three grandchildren.
