Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Rucker, 62, were held at the First Methodist Church February 17, with Rev. William McReynolds officiating.Mrs. Rucker died February 16. She had been hospitalized since suffering a stroke in November, 1960.
Born in Blair, Oklahoma in October, 1898, she first came to Dickens County in 1899. She married J.R. Rucker in Dickens in 1922. They made their first home at Spur
Survivors include her husband and one son, John M. Rucker, Pryor, OK; one sister, Grace McLaren, Seminole; four brothers, Robert Cannon, Spur; Weldon Cannon, Spur; John Cannon, Pueblo, CO; and Rose Cannon, Wilcox, AZ.
Interment was in Spur Cemetery.

Thomas Elbert "Monk" Rucker died August 13 in an automobile accident fourteen miles south of Spur. Services were held August 15 at the Methodist Church, Spur, with Rev. William McReynolds officiating.Rucker was born in Erath county in 1896, worked for the SMS Ranch and operated a shoe shop.
He is survived by one son, Dr. John M. of Burkburnett, two brothers, Bob, Compton, CA; and Lem, Snyder; two sisters, Ruby Bumpus and Bess Fincher, DeLeon; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Thedford Fry, Bill Corder, Mitt Young, Joe Bell, Lafayette Robinson, and Lester Ericson.
Burial was in the Spur cemetery.
