Funeral services for Mrs. Lutie Jo Rogers, 56, were held last Friday afternoon in the First Methodist Church with the Rev. Jake Rakestraw officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Riley Fugitt.Interment was in Spur Cemetery. Rix Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Rogers was a former member of the Spur First Methodist Church. She moved to Lubbock in 1950.
Survivors include her husband, Marlin Rogers, Lubbock; one son, Jimmy Rogers; five daughters, Mrs. Marlene Smith, Mrs. Shirley Sides, and Miss Carolyn Rogers, all of Lubbock and Mrs. Peggy Jean Groves, CA; Mrs. Mary Jo Comer, Ropesville; three brothers, W.W. Pickens, B.L. Pickens, Spur and Glenn Pickens, Vernon. Five grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Marlin Rogers, 68, were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Howard Marcom, officiating. He was assisted by Dr. J.O. Haymes and Rev. Waid Griffin, Lubbock.Mr. Rogers, a former Spur resident, died in Methodist Hospital, Lubbock, on January 25. He moved to Dickens County as a child and resided here until 1950 when he moved to Lubbock. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
He is survived by the wife, Elnora Rogers, Lubbock; one son, James Neal Rogers, Lubbock; two step-sons, Robert Britton, Houston and Lt. J.R. Britton, U.S. Army; five daughters, Mrs. Marlene Smith, Mrs. Peggy Meador, Mrs. Dot Sides and Miss Carolyn Rogers, all of Lubbock and Mrs. Mary Jo Comet, Ft. Morgan, Colo.; one brother, Odwin Rogers of Santa Cruz, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Cole, Roswell, NM and Mrs. Wilma Leavitt, San Jose, CA; 2 grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
Interment was in Spur cemetery.
