Ray RodriquezU.S.Flag     Ramiro "Ray" Rodriguez, 67, of Spur passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2005 in Lubbock. Services were 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2005 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Hugh and Father Paul Kariakatt officiating. Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Ray was born Dec. 30, 1937 in San Benito to Benito Garcia and Constancia Rodriguez. He attended Crosbyton schools. He married Carmen Roa on Aug. 19, 1959 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spur. She preceded him in death on Sept. 22, 1996. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Ray lived in Spur for 47 years where he was active in the church and a member of the Cruciesta's. He worked for Crosbyton ISD and retired from Spur ISD after more than 40 years of Service. He also served as a patrolman for the city of Spur. He served on the Community Action Board and several other various boards for many years.

Mr. Rodriguez is survived by his father, Benito Garcia of San Benito; two sons, Ramiro Rodriguez of Spur and Antonio "Tony" Rodriguez of Jayton; four daughters, Christine Rodriguez of Spur, Carmen Rodriguez of Spur, Mary "Mia" Rodriguez of Spur and Rita Rodriguez of Lubbock; one brother, Albert Garcia of Lansing, MI; and two grandchildren, Kimberly Rodriguez and Becky Hammons.
