Obituary

C.W. Robinson, a retired farmer died Sunday at 3:30 a.m. at his home in southwest Spur. Death was due to a heart attack suffered early in the day Saturday, May 16th.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 18 at the First Baptist Church.

Bro. J.V. Bilberry, a pioneer preacher and friend of the deceased over a period of years officiated, assisted by Bro. Clyde Coffman, pastor of Bethel Baptist church where Mr. Robinson was a deacon of the church.

C.W. Robinson was born June 28, 1868 in Uvalde County, TX, a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Robinson. When a youth he was converted and joined the Baptist church.

He married Jessie Boales November 14, 1916. He came with his family to Dickens County in 1927 and has lived in and near Spur since.

Surviving are his wife, five sons J.B., Honolulu; C.E., Spur; M.B., Leon, OK; G.C., Spur; Lon, Ft.Worth, one daughter, Mrs. Walter Smith, Dry Lake.

Also surviving are four brothers, two sisters, 20 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Interment was made in Spur cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs.Jessie James Robinson, 88, were held May 4 at the First Baptist Church, with Luther H. Bilberry officiating, assisted by Rev. Donnie Miller of Lubbock.

Mrs. Robinson was born April 16, 1873 and died May 3, 1961.

She had lied in Dickens County since 1927.

She joined the Baptist Church early in life.

Survivors include eight sons, Cook of Ringling, OK; C.E. of Lamesa; Pat of Spur, J.S. of Nocona; E.E. of Boyd; G.C. of Lubbock; M.B. of Fort Worth; Lon of Fort Worth; one daughter, Mrs. Walter Smith of Lubbock, four brothers, Bud Boales of O'Donnell; D.S. Boales of San Martin, CA; Marvin S. Boales of Belin and H.E. Boales of Florice. One sister, Mrs. Bennie ?risp of Corpus Christi and 37 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren survive.

Interment was in the Spur Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in Charge.
