J.L. Roberts Died Here Friday, 12thJ.L. Roberts, 71 years of age, died at his home in the city Friday, May 12, following poor health of several years duration and a critical illness of several weeks. He moved to Spur eight years ago and during his residence here, Mr. Roberts has made a great number of friends who are deeply sorrowed at his death. He was quiet and unassuming and a devout Christian having been converted and joined the Baptist church at Haskell in October 1911. He was Baptized by Rev. O.W. Dean.
Funeral services were held here Saturday, conducted by Rev. F.G. Rodgers of the First Baptist Church of this city, interment following in Spur cemetery.
Surviving are his widow and five children, all of whom were present at the funeral. They are Loyd Roberts and Mrs. John Van, city; [part of obit misprint and left out 2 children from Haskell, Texas] and Mrs. Maggie Lowrance, of Big Spring, Texas.
