Valente Rivera 86, passed away January 26, 2011 in Lubbock. He was born on August 22, 1924 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Matias and Julia Rivera.
Valente was survived by his wife Paula Rivera of Spur. Valente was also survived by four sons Valente Rivera Jr. of Nebraska; Venseslao Rivera of Nebraska; Venito Rivera of Texas; and Jesus Rivera of Texas and one daughter Nora Rivera of New Mexico. There is sixteen grandchildren and thirty-one great grandchildren that will miss there grandfather.
Valente was preceded in death by his parents Matias and Julia Rivera and a son Ricardo Rivera.
Services for Valente will Saturday January 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Bible Chapel in Spur, Texas with Bro. Rudy Hernandez officiating under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur. Interment will follow at the Spur Memorial Cemetery in Spur, Texas.
