Obituary

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in the Spur Church of Christ for Monroe Lewis Rickels, 68. He died Thursday night in Spur Memorial Hospital.

Vernon Williams officiated, assisted by Zebbie I. Sailors, Girard.

Mr. Rickels was born in Stephens County, Texas July 27, 1893. He married the former Letha Mae Yaws in Graham in 1912. They made their first home near Graham. They moved to Dickens County in 1923 and had resided in Spur for the past 37 years. He was manager of the Spur office of Stamford Production Credit Association for 20 years.

He also was a well-known cattleman.

Survivors include his wife, one son, Adrian Rickels, Spur; two brothers, Walter Rickels, Graham, and Frank Rickels, Faith, S. Dakota. Two grandsons also survive.

Interment was in Spur Cemetery.

Funeral services were held Friday morning at 10:30 in the Spur Church of Christ for Mrs. Letha Mae Rickels, 70.

Charles Adams, minister, officiated, assisted by Cleston Pritchett.

She died in Spur Memorial Hospital early Thursday morning.

She had been a resident of Dickens County since 1923 and had lived in Spur since 1924. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the late M.L. Rickels.

Survivors include one son, Adrian, Spur, two grandsons, JuDon, Spur and JuRon, Post, one brother, G.C. Yaws of Fort Worth.

Burial was in the Spur Cemetery.
