Johnny Lilburn Richards 71, died May 7, 1972 at 11:50 a.m. Mr. Richards had lived in Lubbock for the past 32 years.

Mr. Richards came to Dickens County in 1915 and moved to Lubbock in 1940. He was a retired blacksmith and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annie Richards, Lubbock; six sons, Billy Gene, Bud and Clifford, Ft. Wroth; Lonnie Dean and Ronnie Gene, both of Lubbock; and Donald Ray of Panama; two daughters, Mrs. LaVerne Abercrombie and Mrs. Wilma Kay of Lubbock; two brothers, Oley Faye Richards of Bakersfield, CA and Geo. G. of Tulsa, OK; six sisters, Mrs. Hazel Ake of Dumas; Cecil Hale, Lizzie Rumbeck, Irene Webb, and Oleda Reader all of Spur and Mrs. Ness Stephens, Ostesia, WA; and 14 grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 10 1972 in the Spur Church of Christ with Mr. Van Cash of Hill Street Church officiating.

Interment was in the Spur cemetery.
