Services Held For Mrs. Mable Van Leer Rhodes Sat.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning, April 4th, 11:00 o'clock at the First Christian Church for Mrs. Mable Van Leer Rhodes whose death occurred Thursday, April 2nd about 3 p.m. at her home in Eastland, Texas. Death was due to a heart attack suffered while in the home alone. The body was brought overland from Eastland.

Rev. R.C. Brown, Christian minister was in charge of services and was assisted by Rev. Pearce J. Burns, pastor of the Spur Christian Church and Rev. Harding, Baptist minister of Post.

Mrs. Kate Davis, of Post, sang a special solo, accompanied by Mrs. W.H. Jimison, pianist.

Interment was made in the Van Leer burial plot in Spur cemetery with Campbell Funeral Chapel directing.

Mable Van Leer was born at Coleman, Texas, October 13, 1891, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I.G. Van Leer, early day citizens of Dickens county and Spur. Mr. Van Leer passed away at his home here in Spur, Sept 12, 1934. Mrs. Van Leer later moved to Post to make her home at that place with her daughter, Mrs. Ione Rogers.

Surviving other than her mother and sister are one brother, Wayne Van Leer, of McAdoo, and three nieces and two nephews.
