M.C. Reynolds Died At Home Here Wednesday

M.C. "Mit" Reynolds, 56, an old timer, and well known citizen of Spur, died at his home here Wednesday night, March 18, at 10 o'clock. He had been confined to his bed for the past two months, suffering from blood poisoning in an infected leg which he had injured some time back in a fall on the ice coated pavement, and although death was not unexpected, it was nevertheless a shock to members of the family as well as to his many friends.

Mit Reynolds and family moved to Spur in January, 1917 and have been continuous residents of this city since that time. Mr. Reynolds was formerly engaged in the dray line and transfer business and later in the restaurant business, but was forced to retire several years ago by failing health. He was born September 20, 1873, at Kingston, Ark. later moving with his family to Texas.

He was married to Miss Mollie Price in Montague county, Nov. 20, 1896, and to this union nine children were born, four of whom with their mother, have preceded their father to the Great Beyond. The remaining children: S.C. Reynolds, Mrs. Lorene Bluhm, and Miss Flora Mae Reynolds of Spur; Mrs. Mittie Posey of Anton, and C.C. Reynolds of Shallowater, were with their father at the time of his death.

"Mit" Reynolds, as he was familiarly known, had a heart of pure gold and was much loved by his many friends over this entire section, and we wish to join them in extending sympathy and condolence to the bereaved ones in this time of sorrow.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Thursday evening at 3:30 o'clock, interment following in Spur Cemetery.
