Services Are Held For Jerry M. Reese

Funeral services for Jerry Marr Reese wee conducted Sunday, April 4, at the First Baptist Church. Rev. H.L. Burnam officiated, assisted by Rev. T.B. Allen.

Reese was born February 26, 1877 in Alabama. He died April 3, 1954 in his home. In 1900 he married Willie Pearl Cook in Navarro County, Texas. They came to Dickens County in 1913 and made their home in Spur. In 1949 he was preceded in death by his wife and then in 1952 in New Mexico, he was married to Ella Davis.

Reese was converted at an early age and joined the Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Ella; one daughter, Mrs. Jim Garrett of Floydada, three sons, J.C. of Spur, Carl of San Bernardino, CA and D.L. of Lubbock, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Interment was in the Spur cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
