Funeral services for Alvin Henry Reeder, 82, a farmer, were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at graveside in Spur Cemetery with Rev. Mike Tomlinson, Amarillo, officiating.
Mr. Reeder died June 20 in the Crosbyton Hospital. He married the former Oleta Richards in Spur in 1941. He had lived in Dickens County most of his life.
Two children preceded him in death: Oral Lee Reeder, 1944 and O'Nell Martin, 1967.
He is survived by his wife, Olerta Reeder, Matador; six sons, O.T. Reeder, Lubbock; John Alvin Reeder, Canute, Oklahoma; William Reeder, Matador; Larry Reeder, Matador; Jimmy Reeder, Matador and Mack Reeder, Roaring Springs; one step son, Gary Richards; six daughters, Barbara Hawkins, Lubbock; Beth Shaw, Dallas; Jenny Lee Kinchloe, Fort Worth; Linda Beth Watson, Buchannon Dam; Dona Sue James, Georgetown and Joni Ortiz, Spur; 38 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Campbell Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Services for Oleta Frances Reeder, 69, of Plains, were at 2 p.m. June 1, 1991 at graveside in Spur Memorial Cemetery.
Rev. Carl Coffey, pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church, Spur, officiated.
Mrs. Reeder died about 5 p.m. May 29 in the Lakeside Care Center, Lubbock, following a lengthy illness. She was born March 12, 1922 in Chickasha, Okla. She made her home in Dickens County most of her life, but had lived the past 4 1/2 years in Plains.
She married Alvin Henry Reeder on May 30, 1941 in Spur. He died June 20, 1982. She is also preceded in death by one son, Lee Reeder (1944) and a step daughter, O'Nell Martin in 1976. Mrs. Reeder was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include six sons and one step son: John Alvin Reeder, Idalou; Larry and Mack Reeder both of Plains; O.T. Reeder, Lubbock; Jimmy Reeder, Seamon, Kansas; William Reeder, and Gary Richards; three daughters, Linda Beth Watson, Buchanan Dam; Donne Sue James, Liberty Hill; Joni Reeder, Lubbock; three step-daughters, Barbara Hawkins, Lubbock; Beth Shaw and Jenny Lee Kinchloe, both of Ft. Worth; one sister, Nan Stephens, Othello, Washington; 26 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
