Services for Irena Reed, 66, of Arlington, formerly of Spur, were held Tuesday, at 12:00 p.m. January 16, 2001 at Lakeside Baptist Church in Spur. Rev. Wilson Perry officiated. Burial was in the Spur Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

She died Friday, January 12, 2001 in Arlington.

She was born August 19, 1934 in Pittsburg, Texas. She married William Henry Reed October 21, 1949 in Seleste, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1992.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Lakeside Baptist Church. She was known in the area as the community Mom.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Earl Reed of Sweetwater and Billy Ray Crawford of Post; four daughters, Delores Patterson of Arlington, Darlene Taylor of Dallas, Willie Mae Reed of Austin, and Billie Jean Vaughn of Lubbock; three brothers, Clarence Johnson of Greenville, Starlin Johnson of Dallas, James Edward Johnson of Arizona; three sisters, Edwen Johnson of Dallas, Shirley Fisher of Greenville, and Jessie Mae Carter of Arizona; 16 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Henry Lee Reed and Fred Lee Reed; one daughter, Mary Lou Reed; and one sister, Evelyn Dussey.
