Obituary

Jack Rector Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church for Jack Rector, 71, a retired Spur insurance agency owner. Rev. Howard Marcom and Rev. J.C. Haynes officiated.

Mr. Rector died January 14 in Methodist Hospital. He had been a resident of Dickens County since 1919. He was a member of the Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge and Rotary Club. He was a 32nd degree Mason, and in November 1970 received his 50 year pin and certificate of recognition.

He is survived by his wife, Spur; three daughters: Mrs. Hardy Decker, Bimidji, MN; Mrs. Rayburn Mason, El Paso; Mrs. Glenn Eaves, Weybridge, Surrey England; three brothers, Glen, Chowchilla, CA; W.O. Maderia, CA; Royce, Paso Robles, CA; one sister, Mrs. Henry Jackson, Hamlin and eight grandchildren.

Graveside services for Floye Mae Rector, 82, Stanton, formerly of Spur, were held Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Spur Memorial Cemetery.

Rev. George Price Jr., pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Spur, officiated.

Mrs. Rector died May 1, in Martin County Hospital, Stanton, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Carlton on January 12, 1905. She married Jack Rector on June 3, 1923, in Spur. He died January 14, 1971.

She had been a resident of Dickens County most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Jackie Decker, Bermidji, Minnesota; Creola Mason, El Paso and Katie Eaves, Midland; one sister, Willie Chapman, Amarillo and eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
