Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, March 29 at 3 o'clock in the Church of Christ of Spur for a long time resident of Dickens County, Mrs. Genivie Thomas Pritchett who died Friday, March 28 at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 15 days.Mrs. Pritchett, who was loved by all who knew her, was born in Shreveport, La., July 14, 1864. She was married in Hunt County, Texas to William Lee Pritchett in 1893 and moved to Dickens 44 years ago. She was converted 36 years ago and was affiliated with the Church of Christ.
T. Furman Cauthen officiated at the services and Chandler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements with interment in the Spur Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dan Pritchett, Jr., Leonard Pritchett, Doyle Pritchett, Cleston Pritchett, Randolph Pritchett and Alton Loe.
Honorary pallbearers were Durwood Woodward, Ted Newman, Ben Loe, J.R. Williams, Gay Williams, Alton Delisle, and J.D. Thomas.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Willie Smith and one son, Dan Pritchett both of Spur. Four sisters, Mrs. Zona Luce, Spur; Mrs. Weltha Goss, Austin; Mrs. Mollie Goss, Abilene; and Mrs. Pal Burberry of Fort Worth and two brothers, John Thomas, Greenville, and Rans Thomas of Morton, Texas. 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren also survive.
