Marie Pritchard, 13, Passes Away Here Sunday Morning
Bertha Marie Pritchard, the thirteen year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Pritchard of the Highway community, passed in death early Sunday monring, January 15, 1939, in a local hospital, the cause attributed by physicians to acute apendicitis.Bertha Marie was born September 9, 1925, in Oklahoma, where the family lived until about two years ago. At removal from their Oklhoma home, the Pritchards came to the Highway community, and Bertha Marie was a student in the Highway School.
Funeral services were held in the Spur Baptist Church Sunday afternoon, 1:30 o'clock, with Rev. R.C. Joyner, officiating. Interment was made in the Spur Cemetery.
Surviving members of the family are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Pritchard; four sisters: Mrs. Alton Harber, Willie, Edith, and Wanda Jean Pritchard; and two brothers, Albert and Jack Pritchard.
