Graveside services were held Sunday, November 27, 1994, in Spur Memorial Cemetery, for Mary J. Phelps, 83, of Spur. Rev. Genoa Goad, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated.

She died November 25 at 7:20 a.m. in Spur Nursing Home. Death was ruled due to natural causes by Bonnie Edwards, Justice of the Peace.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Miss Phelps was born in Gonzales County, Texas and had lived most of her life in Dickens County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Herbert, Gerald and Franklin Phelps.

Survivors include three sisters, Roberta Phelps and Catherine Neal.
