Oscar Pettit Dies: Burial at Spur

Funeral services for Oscar Pettit, 63, were conducted at 2:30 p.m. December 11, 1950 in the Midway Church of Christ, with Bro. John Faubus officiating. Pettit, a long time resident of Dickens County, and for 12 years a resident of near Spur, died December 10. He had been ill for some time.

He was born May 26, 1887 in Arkansas, and came to Dickens County in 1921. He was married to Lucy Farmer at Dickens in 1920. For the past 6 years they had resided north of Dickens in the Midway Community.

Survivors include his wife and one daughter, Gladys P. Franklin, CA. Chandler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
