Funeral services for Mary Berta Perry, a former Spur resident, were held Monday morning in a Mineral Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services were held in Spur at 2:30 p.m.

Miss Perry died in Mineral Wells. She had been a former postal employee here. Both of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Hill Perry, are buried in Spur. He founded Spur Hardware when the town opened in 1909 before he became postmaster. Mr. Perry died during World War II. His wife died about five years ago.

Survivors include a brother, James Hill Perry, Dallas; two cousins, Mrs. D. D. Sawyer, Houston and James Franklin Laverty, Washington, D.C.

Born in Stephenville, Miss Perry graduated from Spur High School in 1922. She retired from the Postal Service in Mineral Wells in 1970.
