Funeral services for Samuel Jason Parsons, 24, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Rev. Norris Taylor and Rev. Raymond Smith, Austin, officiated.A lineman for Fisk Line Co., Parsons was killed in a car wreck on May 1 as he was on his way to work. He had made his home in Angleton for the past six months.
He was a graduate of Spur High School and was a standout football player.
He is survived by his wife, Delores; two sons, Shannon and Stanley, of the home; his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Lem Parsons, Spur; three brothers, Mark of Austin; Curt of Henderson; and Sheldon, Spur; one sister, Mrs. Janet Parsons, Laurel, Maryland; two half sisters, Mrs. Joe Pierce, Albuquerque, NM; and Mrs. Emery Robertson, Floydada.
Pallbearers included Ray Don Thomason, Joe Copeland, Doug Calhoun, Edgar Witt, Royce Drennon and Don Condron.
Interment was in Spur Cemetery.
