Services for Latham Ralph Parsons, 69, of Stonewall, were at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Genoa Goad, pastor, officiating.Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Parsons died at his home about 5 a.m. on November 28. Justice of the Peace Andrew Loeffle ruled death was due to an apparent heart attack.
Born June 10, 1920 in Spur he had resided in Stonewall, TX for the past four years. He was a retired farmer. He married Wanda Gilmore in Crosbyton on September 14, 1940. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Baptist Church.
He graduated from Crosbyton High School, and served on the Crosbyton and Self County Line school boards. He also served as a Crosby County Commissioner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cragg and Opal Parsons, longtime residents of Kalgary and Spur.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Parsons, Stonewall; one son, David Parsons, Hobbs, NM; three daughters, Ann Sitton, Austin and Freda Hardin, Austin; Barbara LaGrone, Santa Maria, CA; a sister, Elva Havens, Lubbock and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Bill Havens, R.G. Havens, Sheldon Parsons, Curt Parsons, Brad Hardin and Brent Sitton.
