Sam Owen settled a ranch home twelve miles southest of Spur sixteen or seventeen years ago; coming to this country from San Saba county. Later hemoved with his family to Canada where he spent five years and where he now also own a ranch home, returning last year to Spur where he has since made his home. He was about sixty years of age at the time of his death. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his death.

Sam Owen was a good citizen and was form one of the very best families in the state of Texas. We have known the Owen family all of our life. There are no better people, and in their death the country sustains a real loss. To the bereaved family we extend our sincere sympathy.
