Services for Florene A. Nalley, 72, Spur, were at 11 a.m. June 1, 1990 in First United Methodist Church, Spur, with Rev. John Dorn, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Nalley died at her home on May 29, 1990, following a lengthy illness. Death was due to natural causes.

A homemaker, she was born in Roaring Springs, October 7, 1917. She lived most of her life in Dickens County. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the County Home Demonstration Club.

She married George Nalley on November 4, 1933 in Spur.

Survivors include her husband, George Nalley, Spur; one son, Joe Nalley, Ottumwa, Iowa; a daughter, Barbara Durham, Hope, NM; (another daugher, Glenna Nalley, died June 8, 1939); one brother, Bob Applegate, Torrence, CA; two sisters, Vivian Long and Charlene Cooper, both of Hood, CA; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Pallbearers included Eric Swenson, Fred Neaves, Bob Giles, Billy Hale, Randal Key and Gary Key, Honorary pallbeaers were D.J. Dyess, Bill Hale, Claude Barclay, J.H. Taylor and Paul Bennett.

Funeral services are pending at Campbell Funeral Home for George W. Nalley, 84, of Spur.

Services will be in the First United Methodist Church with former Spur pastor Rev. John Dorn, of White Deer, officiating; assisted by Rev. Kenney Kirk.

Burial will be in Spur Memorial Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Mr. Nalley died at 2:40 a.m. September 8, 1992 in St. Mary of the Plains Hospital, Lubbock following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Waco and had lived in the Spur area since 1920. He married Florene Applegate on November 4, 1933 in Spur. She preceded him in death on May 29, 1990.

Mr. Nalley was a retired farmer and a member of the National Rifle Association. One daughter, Glenna Nalley, preceded him in death on June 8, 1939. He is also preceded in death by a brother, J.O. Nalley, 1992 and two sisters, Sammie Hodges in 1992 and Ruth Simms in 1991.

He is survived by one son, George (Joe) Nalley Jr. of Tipa, Taiwan; a daughter, Barbara Durham, Spur; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Dickens County EMS or the American Cancer Society.

Pallbearers wil be Randal Key, Gary Key, Wilburn Ball, Eric Swenson, Bob Giles, Billy Hale, Don Condron and Haden Moore.

Honorary pallbearers will be D.J. Dyess, Claude Barclay, J.H. Taylor, Cecil Caplinger, Bill Hale Sr. and Harold May.
