Funeral services for John Marshall Murray, 88, a retired blacksmith, were held in the First Baptist Church Jan. 5 with Rev. Norris Taylor officiating assisted by Rev. Virgil Mott, Snyder.

Mr. Murray died Jan. 3. He had been a resident of Spur for 46 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dollie Murray, Snyder; six sons, Cleo and W.C. both of Spur; John W., Red Oak; George, Midland; Herman, Los Angeles and Virgil, Lubbock; two daughters, Mrs. Greg Phillips, Rochester, NY; and Mrs. Brown Oxford, Vivian, LA; one step-daughter, Mrs. Howard Gibbons, Snyder; three half-brothers, A.J. and Curtis Murray, Huntsville; Henry Murray, Trinity; three step-sons, Fred Day, Bedford Day and J.C. Day, Jr. of Ruidoso, NM; 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Burial was in Spur Cemetery.
