Blast Claims Third Victim

The service station blast which killed two people in Spur on Saturday, January 6, claimed its third victim Sunday morning, January 14. Thurman Morrow died in Parkland Hospital, Dallas from burns received in the blast and fire.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Rev. W.L. Kite officiating. Assisting was Rev. Melvin Ratheal, Lubbock.

Mr. Morrow was born in Jones county and came to Spur and Dickens county in 1923. He married the former Stella Drennon in 1929. He was a member of the Baptist Church and was a paint contractor.

Survivors include his wife, one daughter, Bobbie Harrison, Rochester and one son, Thurman, Jr. Spur; two sisters, Florence Wann Corpus Christi; Mrs. Gladys Sanders, Duncan, OK; two brothers, Clyde and Ray both of Spur and three grandchildren.
