U.S.Flag   Services for Thurmond W. Moore Jr., 72, of Spur were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2000 at the First Baptist Church with Eric Swenson of Spur and Dennis Wilson of Lubbock officiating. Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.

He died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, in Lubbock. He was born July 29, 1927, in Spur. He lived most of his life in Dickens County. He was a 1944 graduate of Spur High School. He graduated from Texas Tech on Aug. 23, 1950, with a degree in business. Moore married Billie Tucker on March 8, 1952, in Spur. He was a farmer and rancher in Dickens County for many years. He was a member of the Dickens County Sheriff´s Posse and Cowboy Polo Team. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the National Riflemans Association. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Moore of Spur; one son, Thurmond W. and Pam Moore, III of Spur; one daughter, Teresa and Ron Johnson of Clovis, N.M.; and two grandchildren, Dustin and Britni.

Pallbearers were Dale Crafton, Louis Pyle, Robert Pierce, don Condron, Gary Key, and Woodie McArthur.

Honorary Pallbearers were Dr. Ed Murray, J. B. Morrison, Snooks Williams, Al O´Brien, Lane Erickson, and Doc Edwards.

Memorials may be made to the Lubbock Children´s Home, Dickens County EMS or to the South Dickens County Senior Citizens.
