Veteran Flag   Services for Haden Moore, 73, of Spur, were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at the Highway 70 Church of Christ in Spur with Bob Martin officiating. Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur. He died July 6, 2003.

He was born July 4, 1930 in Spur. He was the son of Thurmond and Thelma McArthur Moore and a graduate of Spur High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. It was at that time that he met and married his wife, Veve Caviness of Lillington, North Carolina.

Haden received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Education from Texas Tech University. He coached and taught in several West Texas communities but spent most of his career in Hale Center and Matador where he retired as Director of the Rolling Plains Special Ed Co-Op. After his retirement, he and his wife moved back to Spur.

He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Ann, and son-in-law, Robin Cochran of Lubbock; his daughter, Kathy, and son-in-law, Creighton Cook of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Amy, Beth and John Robin Cochran, and Ashley, Katie and Ethan Cook.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Highway 70 Church of Christ in Spur, the First Methodist Church in Spur, or to a church of your choice.
