Carlos T. Mesa 83, passed away on January 27, 2013 in Lubbock, Texas. Carlos was born on September 30, 1929 to his loving parents Adelaida Trigeros Mesa and Ramiro Mesa in Amatlan De Canas, Nayarit, Mexico. He married Oralia Rangel on February 2, 1948 in Eldarado, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his daughters, Adelaida and Manuelita Mesa, his son, Carlos Mesa Jr., and his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughters Ylda Sproles, Olga Pinon, Andrea Sides, Estella Casias, Martha Mesa, Margarita Mesa, and Rosa Martinez all of Lubbock, TX, and 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spur, TX. He worked and retired as a farmer/rancher in Spur. His favorite time was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved to watch the Texas Rangers. His favorite player was Nelson Cruz. He had many friends, nurses and caregivers that he loved. He will be greatly missed by many. A rosary will be Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Zapata Funeral Home in Spur, TX at 6:00 p.m. Service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on January 30, at 2:00p.m. with Father Renato officiating under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home and will be laid to rest following the service at Spur Memorial Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
