Rites Read For Randolph McNeill Here Saturday
Funeral rites for Randolph Calvin McNeill, 68, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church in Crosbyton. McNeill died about 10:35 p.m. Thursday in a Lubbock hospital.The Rev. Melvin Ratheal of Tucson, Ariz., officiated, assisted by the Rev. Henry Salley, minister of the local church.
Masonic gravesite rites were conducted at the Spur cemetery where burial was under direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.
McNeill, a native of Crosbyton, moved to Spur in 1951, but returned to Crosbyton in 1963. He had attended Texas Tech where he was one of the first to enroll in the college the year it opened.
He was a retired radio dispatcher for the Crosby County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by a brother, J. C. McNeill III of Dallas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. McNeill, who was a retired police radio dispatcher, had resided in Spur from 1951 until 1963. He lived in Crosbyton prior to and after the above dates. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Spur Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by one brother, J.C. McNeill, III of Dallas and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included Fletcher Stark, L.T. Starkey, Clarence Ratheal, Alan Ratheal, Kelton Winegar and Jim Bridge. Honorary pallbearers were D.A. Edward, Cotton Leatherwood, Bud Leatherwood, Doyle Hinson, Dub Self, John Stedham, Dutch Hines and Bill Odom.
Interment was in the Spur Cemetery.
