Jack McKay

Jack Alton McKay, 83 passed away Thursday January 29, 2015 after a lengthy illness. He was born September 13, 1931 at Red Mud Community, Dickens Co. He was preceded in death by parents: Walter (Son) & Era Vay (Hoover) McKay; four brothers, Bill, Don, Joe and Berle. Jack spent his childhood moving several times but growing up in the west TX area. He graduated from Whiteface H.S. in 1949 and served Three years in the National Guard. He later moved to Dallas, TX where he married & raised a family. In 1977 he moved back to Spur to help care for his elderly parents. He owned and operated the Spur Super Market until 1991. Jack is survived by his wife of 59yrs. Mary Lou (Denison) McKay; One Brother, Merle M. McKay of Gainesville, TX; Three Daughters, Jackie Lynn Lambert of California, Donna Stewart of Spur, TX and Sherry Hart of McKinney, TX, Six Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren.

Services for Jack McKay will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday February 1, 2015 at Zapata Funeral Home Chapel in Spur, TX; Followed by Interment at Spur Memorial Cemetery.
