Funeral services for Charles Henry McCully, 77, a retired rancher, were held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon in the First Methodist Church.Rev. W.D. McReynolds officiated, assisted by Rev. John Jenkins, pastor of First Baptist Church.
Mr. McCully died at his home July 30 following a lengthy illness.
Born in Comanche County in 1888, Mr. McCully married the former Lena Miller at Whiteflat in 1913. They made their first home in Matador and moved to Spur in 1931.
He is survived by his wife, Spur; one son, Alton, Tustin, CA; three daughters, Mrs. Clarence Foreman, Spur; Mrs. V.C. Giliuson, Minneapolis, MN; Mrs. Pat Sims, Abilene; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Cannon, Hurst and Mrs. Carrie Poweck, Orange; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Arner Watson, Cecil Godfrey, Clarence Watters, John Albin, Adrian Rickels, Dogie Graves, and G.W. Grimes.
Burial was in the Spur Cmetery.

Services for Mrs. C. H. (Lena) McCully, 81, were held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Archie Echols officiating, assisted by Rev. John Nay, First Christian pastor.Mrs. McCully died at her home October 13. A resident of Spur since 1930, she was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Spur Garden Club and the Woman´s Society of Christian Service, and the Methodist Church. Her husband, C.H. McCully, died in 1965. A son, Charles Henry McCully, died in 1926.
Survivors include a son, Alton McCully, Sloughberks, England; three daughters, Mrs. Selbia Foreman, Spur; Mrs. Joyce Giliuson, Rosemount, MN.; Mrs. Pat Sims, Abilene; four sisters, Mrs. Doll Hardberger, Lubbock; Mrs. Mary Miles, Dallas; Mrs. Grace Young, Devol, OK; Mrs. Maurie Growden, San Antonio; two brothers, Harry Miller, Lubbock and Fred Miller, Post; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers. They included: Bob Harrison, Jerry Richburg, Jerry Fitzhugh, Jerry Reynolds, Charles Soloday, Darrell Sims, David and Daniel Giliuson.
Burial was in Spur Cemetery.
