Graveside services for Oran R. McClure, Jr., 86, of Spur, were at 3 p.m. February 22, 1996 in Spur Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Larry Burton, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Spur, officiated.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McClure died in the Spur Care Center on February 21. Death was ruled due to natural causes. He was born in Rotan on October 1, 1909. He married Pauline Peterson and she preceded him in death on March 2, 1975.  [buried in Ogden, TX]

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a Methodist. He was a retired printer. His parents, Oran and Ann McClure founded The Texas Spur in 1909.

Survivors include one brother, Major Max McClure of San Antonio.
