Funeral services for Patsy Joyce Mayo, 19, were conducted Monday, April 12, at the Bethel Baptist Church. Rev. Billie Smith officiated. He was assisted by Rev. J.E. Lee.

Mrs. Mayo was born on March 15, 1935 at Jayton. She came to Dickens County in 1948 with her parents and lived in the Soldier Mound community. She was a member of the 1953 graduating class of Spur High School. Early in life she had been converted and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

On December 9, 1952, she and Eldon Mayo were married at Carlsbad, New Mexico. They made their home in Spur and Mr. Mayo is now in the army, stationed in Germany.

Pallbearers were Foy Jackson, Clyde Smith, George Nalley, Bill Crafton, R.G. Bostic, and Homer Hill.

She is survived by her husband, her mother, Mrs. Beaulah McKinzie, one sister, Opal Hodges of Girard, one brother, James McKinzie of Lovington, New Mexico and her grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. L.R. Bilbrey of Santa Ana, Texas.

Interment was in the Spur cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
