Funeral services were held Sunday for Mrs. Violet Onell Martin, 48, in the First Baptist Church, Spur. Rev. Hollis Shoemaker, Levelland, church pastor, Rev. Norris Taylor.

Mrs. Martin died April 1, in Methodist Hospital, Lubbock. She lived in Spur from 1927 to 1947. She had lived in Lubbock since 1947. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Walter H. Martin, Lubbock; two daughters, Connie Sanders, Lubbock; and Vickye Martin, Pensacola, FL; one son, James Martin, Shallowater; her father, Alvin Reeder, Spur; six sisters, Barbara Johnson, Lubbock; Beth Shaw Carrollton; Mrs. Jimmie Kinchloe, Fort Worth; Donna Sue James, Spicewood; Linda Beth Norris and Johnnie Lee Reeder, both of Spur. Six brothers, O. T., John A., Mack and Larry, all of Lubbock; Jimmy and William of Spur and four grandchildren also survive.

Pallbearers included Wayne Jones, Grady Keeling, Ronald Whisenant, Wayne Reeder, Mike Tomlinson, Jerry Springfield, Ronnie Springfield and Steve Lauderdale.

Burial was in Spur Cemetery.
