Reuben Manuel Jr. was born August 5, 1935 in Hearne, TX to Reuben and Augusta Manuel. He graduated from Hearne High School and moved to West Texas as a young man. He was a rancher and attended the Baptist Church.

Reuben married Mary Louise Cole. This union was blessed with five daughters. On October 15, 1993, Reuben married Brenda Booker in Roswell, NM.

Obituary

SPUR (Special) — Graveside services for Reuben Manuel Jr., 63, of Spur will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Spur Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Wilson Perry officiating.

Burial will be under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Manuel died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998, in Crosbyton Hospital.

He was born Aug. 5, 1935, in Hearne. He graduated from Hearne High School. He married Brenda Booker on Oct. 15, 1993, in Roswell, N.M. He was a ranch hand and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Ricky of Sweetwater; five daughters, Ruby Manuel, Adrian Manuel, Lillie Manuel, Jackie Manuel and Gwenda Manuel, all of Dallas; his mother, Augusta Askew of Bryant; three brothers, Lonzil Britton of Amarillo, Charles Wilson of San Angelo and Danny Britton of Denton; three sisters, Shirley Britton-Ese of Denton, Gwen Bagley of Lubbock and Vicki Smith of Austin; and seven grandchildren.
