Funeral services for Alonzo Lollar, resident of Dickens County for 40 years were held at the 1st Baptist church, Spur, 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25.Rev. C. Melvin Ratheal officiated assisted by Rev. Cal C. Wright.
Lollar, who would have soon been 76 years old, moved to Dickens County in 1911, and made his home in the Duck Creek community until the time of his death. The long-time resident was married o Eleanor Ellis on Jan. 6y, 1901. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, two brothers, John of Abilene and Will of Tye and two sisters, Mrs. Myra Caffey of Anson and Mrs. Daisy Thomson of Dallas.
Pallbearers were N. Thompson, Giles Thompson, Basil Lollar, Weldon Lollar, Grover Lollar, Dalton Caffey and Wiley Caffey.
Interment was in the Spur cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Eleanor Mary Lollar, 94, were held at 4 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Rev. Clarence Stephens officiated.Mrs. Lollar died May 12 in Memorial Hospital, Quanah. She was a member of the Methodist Church; Order of the Eastern Star. Born in Churchill, Tenn., she had resided in Dickens County from 1908 until 1965 when she moved to Quanah to be near a niece.
Survivors include two nieces, Mrs. Sam Gregory, Quanah; Mrs. Ellis DeVoll, Abilene; three nephews, Claude Allen, Amarillo; Cyril Ellis, Abilene; Rex Ellis, Hico. Her husband preceded her in death in 1951.
Pallbearers included Pat Copeland, Louis Williams, L.C. Horn, Richard Westfall, Jack Smithey and Jake Swaringen.
Interment was in Spur Cemetery.
