Funeral services were conducted for George Edward Lisenby, Jr. Wednesday, June 3 at the Methodist Church. Rev. Cal Wright officiated, assisted by Rev. John L. Floyd.

Lisenby was born November 23, 1906 and died June 1. He came to Dickens County in 1918 and has been a resident of Spur for the past 35 years.

He was married to Ollie Eneke at Sweetwater on October 19, 1937. They made their first home in Spur.

Lisenby was converted to the Christian religion at an early age and joined the First Christian Church.

Pallbearers at the funeral were John Albin, Eustace Blumberg, Leon Reagan, Clarence Watters, Buford Johnston, Adrian Rickels, L.P. Hamilton and Slim Myers. Honorary pallbearers were Tom Cooper, E.S. Lee, Carl Murry, Dillard Williams, T.L. Conoway, Lee Snodgrass, M.H. Costolow, Oscar Kelley, Tang Smith, Harry Patton, Jess Fletcher and Jerry Willard.

Survivors were his wife, his mother, Mrs. Ed Lisenby, eight sisters and one brother.

Interment was in the Spur Cemetery under the direction of Campbell's Funeral Chapel.
