Obituary

Funeral services for Jack Leroy Lewis, 65, were held Sunday at 4 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Rev. Norris Taylor, officiating.

Mr. Lewis died about 8 p.m. in the Crosbyton Hospital on October 31. He was employed as a ranch hand at the time of his death. Born in Spur, he resided here most of his life. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alma Lewis, Spur; a son, D. H. Hale, Fort Worth; a daughter, Mrs. Tommie Sparkman, Fort Worth; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Lewis, Spur; and a brother, Clark Lewis, Oklahoma City, OK; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Glen Smith, Pete Sampson, Alvin Stoneman, Thedford Fry, Dale Wyatt and Charles Rainbolt.

Burial was in the Spur Cemetery.

Services for Alma B. Lewis, 88, of Spur, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 1995, at Campbell Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. Norris Taylor, Idalou, former Spur Baptist pastor, will officiate.

Burial will be in Spur Memorial Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lewis died December 11 at the Crosbyton Clinic Hospital. Death was ruled due to natural causes. She was born April 24, 1907 and had lived in Dickens County most of her life. She married Jack Lewis in Dickens County on February 26, 1942. He preceded her in death on October 31, 1975.

Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include one son, D. H. Hale, Fort Worth; a daughter, Tommie Sparkman, Weatherford; one sister, Ada Hale, Lubbock; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Two of the grandchildren are granddaughters who were raised by Mrs. Lewis. They are Bobbie Gannon of Spur and Billie Ogens of St. Louis, Missouri.

Pallbearers were Bob Gannon, Craig Gannon, John Ogens, Shane Henry, Doug Lange and Dustin Lange.
