Funeral services for Edwin Stirman Lee, 84, were held Thursday, December 29 at 2 p.m. in the Spur Church of Christ. Vernon Williams officiated, assisted by Bill Fox, Arlington, VA and Med McKnight, Kaufman.Mr. Lee, who was assistant vice president of the Spur Security Bank, died December 27 in Methodist Hospital. Married to the former Lillie Gay Cooner in Haskell in 1921, the Lees came to Spur from Girard in 1925.
He served as an elder in the Church of Christ for 44 years; he was a member of the board of trustees at Abilene Christian University from 1938 to present and was also a veteran of World War I.
He was associated with the Spur Bank for many years.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Annette Fox, Arlington, VA and Mrs. LaVorise McKnight, Kaufman, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Jack Beeson, Toby Collett, Eric Swenson, Ransom Galloway, JuDon Rickels and Hobert Lewis; honorary pallbearers included Arlie Ramage, Gifford Phillips, Nig Wyatt, Gwyn Long, Edd Williams, Ronnie White and Guy Goen.
Burial was in Spur Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs.E.S. Lee, 78, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Spur Church of Christ.Vernon Williams, minister of the local church, will officiate. He will be assisted by Bill Fox, Arlington, Va. And Mid McKnight Kaufman.
Mrs. Lee died October 25 in Methodist Hospital. She came to Dickens County in 1925 from Girard, in Kent County. She married E. S. Lee in Haskell in 1921. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Mr. E. S. Lee, Spur; two daughters, Annette Fox, Arlington, Va; Lavoris McKnight, Kaufman; a brother, Jim M. Cooner, Dallas; two sister, Mrs. Bruce Browning, Abilene and Mrs. Marshall Bragg, Spur; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will include DuDon Rickels, Eric Swenson, Toby Colleen, Jack Beeson, Ransom Gallaway and Hobert Lewis.
Honorary pallbearers will include Guy Goen, Arlie Ramage, Gifford Phillips, Nig Wyatt, Dan Robertson, Gwen Long, Ed Williams and Ronnie White.
Burial will be in Spur Cemetery.
