J.N. Kimmel, 67, died Friday afternoon at the home of his brother, W.A. Kimmel, three miles southwest of Spur, following a protracted illness. Death, however, was due to a stroke suffered Wednesday about 7:30 o´clock.
Following the death of his companion in 1930, Mr. Kimmel continued residence at his home in Omaha, Texas, until in 1935 when he came to Spur to make his home with his brother, W.A. Kimmel. One other brother, G.E. Kimmel and a sister of Omaha survive.
Funeral services were held, in accordance with his expressed wishes at the cemetery, at eleven o´clock Saturday morning with Rev. E. Denton, pastor of the Steel Hill Baptist Church officiating, assisted by Rev. R.C. Joyner. Interment was made in the Spur cemetery with Ward Funeral Home directing arrangement.

J.N. Kimmel, 67, passed away at his home in Spur on Friday morning, September 2. Funeral and burial rites were conducted at Spur on Saturday morning.
Deceased, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Kimmel, was born and reared near Omaha, living here until just a few years ago, when he moved to Spur.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. T.J. Harrott of the Center Point community, two brothers, W.A. Kimmel of Spur, G.E. Kimmel of the Concord community, and many other relatives.
