Obituary

Mrs. Albert Jordan died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ab McClanahan on West Harris Street, just after five o´clock Wednesday morning. Funeral services will be held today about three o´clock at the First Baptist Church in Spur. Rev. J.V. Bilberry, will conduct the services. Interment will follow in Spur Cemetery with Campbell´s Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jordan has been an invalid many years. For several months she has been with her daughter here in town in order to have advantage of more prompt medical attention. Her home was in Steel Hill community.

Her maiden name was Miss Ola Turnbow, and she was born in Erath County, April 1, 1888. She and Mr. Jordan were married January 8, 1908 in Erath county. In 1910 they moved to Dickens County and established a home on their farm in Steel Hill Community of Dickens County.

Funeral Services For Mrs. Albert Jordan 2:30 Today

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 for Mrs.Albert Jordan at the First Baptist Church, Rev. J.V. Bilberry, pioneer Baptist Minster, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Spur Cemetery under direction of Spencer Campbell.

Mrs. Ola Jordan, 49, died Wednesday morning following a long illness. She was born in Erath County and was married to Mr. Jordan 29 years ago, moving to Dickens County two years later. The family were pioneers of this section.

Survivors besides the husband and five children: Marion, the oldest son, Mrs. Abb (Creola) McClanahan, Mrs. J.D. (Nadine) Hopkins, George and Mrs. Evelyn Marshall; five sisters: Mrs. Matthews and Mrs. Emma Loden of Fort Worth; Mrs. Billie Fox, Mrs. Milton Fox and Mrs. J. M. Moore of Dublin and one brother, Carl Turnbow of Dublin.

Services were conducted for Albert Wilson Jordan in the First Baptist Church, Sunday, May 10, at 3 p.m.

Rev. H.L. Burnham officiated assisted by Walter Shetter and T.B. Allen.

Jordan was born in Hico, Texas in 1885. He was married in 1906 to Ola Turnbow and moved to Kent County in 1910. He was converted early in life and joined the Steel Hill Baptist Church in 1911. He was a victim of an automobile accident and died May 9, in a Lubbock Hospital.

Pallbearers were Everett McArthur, Rex Carlisle, Buck Carlisle, George Erath, Buddy Hoover, Elmer Cross, Jesse Morrison, Olney Walker.

Honorary pallbearers were Bob Westerman, Tom Conner, O.P. Meador, John King Sr., Bob Hahn, Bill Dement, Bud Morrison, Lloyd Hindman.

Survivors include two sons, Marion and George of Spur; three daughters, Creola McClanahan, Lorenzo, Nadine Hopkins, Evelyn Marshall, Spur; one sister, Mrs. Emma Reed, Lubbock; four brothers, Will, Hico; Walter, O´Donnel; Lovett, Lubbock; Ellis, Amarillo; seven grandchildren.

Interment was in the Spur Cemetery under the directions of Chandler Funeral Home.
