Funeral services for William Dewey Johnson, 82, were held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church, Jayton. Rev. Tommy Ewing, Plainview, officiated, assisted by Rev. Truett Kuenstler, Jayton.

Mr. Johnson, a cowboy and painter, by occupation, died April 20 in the Kent County Nursing Home. He moved to Kent County in 1955 from Scurry county. He was a member of the Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife, Henrietta Johnson, Jayton; two sisters, Mrs. Lottie Dopson, Spur and Mrs. Mary Helen Lackey, Amarillo; one grandchild and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Bob Hamilton, Mike Owens, Floyd Hall, Newt Caldwell, Robert Koonce and Jarri Parker.

Burial was in Spur Cemetery.
