Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry John, 58, a Spur resident since 1927, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Campbell Funeral Chapel.

The Rev. Riley Fugitt officiated. Burial was in Spur Cemetery.

Mrs. John died about 6 a.m. Tuesday in her home following a heart attack.

Pallbearers were Horace Wood, D.E. Woodward, Loyd Womack, Jr., Ralph Sherril, C.W. Proctor, Bill Starcher and A.J. Harvey.

Survivors include her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Frances Wilson, Olney, a son, Henry Jr., Spur; a half-sister, Mrs. J.H. Anderson, Lockney, and a half brother, J.F. Hand, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Campbell's Funeral Chapel for Henry Johns, 70. Rev. Norris Taylor, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated.

Mr. Johns, a retired mechanic, died in Spur Memorial Hospital, January 20, following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Johns came to Spur in 1927 from Girard. He was well known in this area and was active in the Cap Rock Peace Officers Association.

His wife preceded him in death in 1957.

Survivors include one son, Henry Johns, Spur; one daughter, Mrs. Frances Wilson, Olney; and a sister, Mrs. Lillian Naurt, Fort Worth.

Pallbearers included Cecil Fox, Pete Day, D.E. Woodward, Wayne Beadle, Lee Kidd and Walt Jimison.

Interment was in Spur Cemetery.
