Funeral services for Mrs. Ivy Nona James, 74, will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Spur. Rev. Norris Taylor will officiate.Mrs. James died June 25 in University Hospital, Lubbock. She had been a resident of Spur since 1923. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff James, Spur; two daughters, Mrs. Odell Howton, Duncan, OK; and Mrs. Marcell McAlpin, Abilene; four sons, Billy Ray, Lubbock; Joe Brownwood; Jim, Odessa; and John, Collieston, Scotland; two sisters, Mrs. A.B. Stuckey, Sr., Sonoma, CA; Mrs. Mary Ann Howe, Spur; 16 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
Grandsons were pallbearers. They included Billy James, David James, Blaine McAlpin, Kenny Howton, Danny James, John James, Lanny James, Ty James, Jeff James.
Burial was in the Spur Cemetery.

Funeral services for Jeff Henry James, 77, were held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Spur. Pastor Rev. Norris Taylor officiated.Mr. James, a retired farmer and carpenter, died February 10 in the Health Sciences Center Hospital in Lubbock. He came to Dickens County from Mills County in 1923. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include 4 sons: Billy Ray, Arlington; Joe, Brownwood, Jim, Odessa and John, Hobbs, NM; two daughters, Mrs. Odell Howton, Duncan, OK; and Mrs. Marcell McAlpin, Abilene; a sister, Mrs. Nettie Land, Houston; 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers. They included Billy James; David James; Blaine McAlpin; Kenny Howton; Danny James, John James, Lann James, Ty James and Jeff James.
Interment was in the Spur Cemetery.
