Funeral services for Marion Ely Hutton, 81, former employee of the Swenson Land and Cattle Co., were held here Monday in the Assembly of God Church, Rev. Vernon Hagar officiating. He was assisted by Rev. J.E. Lee.Hutton was stricken by a heart attack and died Saturday. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He had resided in Dickens county since 1902. He retired about 4 years ago.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Allan Gatlin, Mrs. Frankie Gibson, Denver City, Mrs. Lois Cox, Pecos; 5 sons: Melvin, AZ; Willard with the army in Germany; Elzo, Odessa; John, Brownfield; and Birl, Yuma; 4 brothers, Bailey and Charley of Rising Star, Dee of NM and Emmitt; three sisters: Naomi Hutton and Mrs. Jennie Henry both of Rising Star and Mrs. Julia Westerman, Comanche; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Glenn Smith, Rake Hill, Bud Beadle, Billy Smith, J.C. Cornelius, and Abb Smith.
Interment was in Spur cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
