Obituary

U.S.Flag  Services for Steve M. Hudson, Jr., 56, Spur, were at 2 p.m. July 17, 1989 in the Highway 70 Church of Christ, with Bob Brandon, Merkel, officiating. Brandon formerly pastored the Highway 70 Church of Christ.

Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Hudson died July 15 1989 in Lubbock General Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born October 27, 1932 in Swenson, he had resided in Spur since 1977 coming here from Liberty. He was a retired manager of Pipe Machinery Corp. and was also a former superintendent for the City of Spur. He married Irene Pernell on November 2, 1963 in Abilene.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict; a member of the VFW and Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Hudson, Spur; two sons, Randy Hudson, Spur and Ed Ragan, Elliott; a daughter, Trina Hudson, Spur; a brother, Dwain Hudson, Spur; two brothers preceded him in death, J.B. Hudson in 1924 and Gib Hudson in 1975; two sisters, Pauline Ohmstead, Abilene and Mary Brown, Azle, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Glen Martin, Ben Loe, Eric Swenson, Pat Winkler, Loyd Rinehart and Gwyn Long.
